We recently transitioned my son from the crib to a big boy bed. As you can see, it was a big hit! I had the bed custom made by one of my favorite upholstery resources here in California. They did a fabulous job matching the tricky fabric repeat all the way around the bed. The fabric is called “Breakwater” by Christopher Farr Cloth, again one of my favorite fabric resources.
I used a patterned fabric on the bed, so I decided to tone it down a little with a solid color, blue oxford duvet from Serena & Lily. The sheets, which you can’t see, are a fun rocket ship pattern from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child and the Hot Air Balloon throw pillow is from Fornasetti. Rocket ships and Hot Air Balloons are two of his favorite things, so it was fun to incorporate them into the design.
I love the khaki welt detail around the headboard and footboard. It adds a little something special to the bed. And I should also mention there is a metal trundle bed that pulls out from under the bed skirt. I can’t wait until he can have sleep overs with his friends!
I couldn’t be happier with how this room has turned out, and thankfully he loves it too and has made the transition very well! Now to work on the new baby’s nursery!
