We hosted Thanksgiving at our house in Napa for a few friends and their kids. Every year I look forward to decorating the table and cooking a delicious meal. This year was no exception. I usually make my own floral arrangement as the centerpiece using store bought flowers from Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, however I was trying to streamline my to-do list this year, so I ordered an arrangement from a local florist. It didn’t turn out like I expected, so I ended up redoing practically the entire arrangement. Hate when that happens! But I was happy with the end result, so all ended well.
Here’s a close up of each place setting. I started taking pictures before I put out the silverware…oops! I used my everyday plates, which are the Incanto collection from Vietri. No two are exactly like, which I love, and the white color can be used for any occasion and leaves the focus on the food. I also like a well-layered table that includes a table cloth or runner, place mats, AND chargers. The more layers the better in my opinion!
For candlelight, I used a mixture of my GlassyBaby candleholders, some selenite logs that we used at our wedding, and our two oversized hurricanes from Jan Barboglio that sit on our table year round. The glassware is from Juliska. It’s too fragile for everyday use, so I love when there’s a special occasion to pull out my collection. It’s one of my favorite elements of the table.
